President Eisenhower took office in 1953 after Truman. Before becoming President of the United States Dwight was the commander of the forces liberating Europe. He commanded D-Day and many operations that lead to Victory in Europe. From his experience in the military many people saw how important it is to have a military leader as president, for the Cold War.

CIAFrom the beginning of the Cold War spies were a huge part of getting valuable information. During Dwight's Precedence he gave more power and strength to the CIA organization. So they could investigate more into communism.

NASAPresident Eisenhower started NASA for the space race. We were in a race with the USSR for who could get to space first (which the USSR won) and then who could get a man on the moon first (US won).

HighwaysDuring Dwight's Precedence he created the highway system that can be seen in the United States today. The reasons why it was created was to protect the people of the United States. By allowing for the military to travel faster across the country and to allow emergency landings for planes.
