1960's
The 1960's was seen as a turning point in American society. The start of the Civil Rights Movement pushed many people into protesting equality for every United States citizen. Also during this time Martian Luther King Jr. was one of the most influential men of the century that used the ways of Gandhi to spread the dream of equality. When John F. Kennedy was elected president he realized the importance of having the equality in the United States to set an example to the rest of the world.
The 60's was also a time of war, where the United States entered a war to attempt to relieve Vietnam of Communism which they eventually lost. |
